What is InnoCampus

InnoCampus is a mobile accelerator / Fab Lab program which travels from city to city helping budding entrepreneurs bring their business ideas to life. The prefabricated portable platform consists of 3 containers (total 90 m2) which can be set up and disassembled in just a day and travels from city to city on 3 trucks. InnoCampus Gaziantep Program was held with the participation of local and refugee entrepreneurs in Gaziantep from February to May 2017. At the end of the program, grants were awarded to 3 teams (including refugee entrepreneurs) to let them bring their business ideas to life. Our next stops will be Urla İzmir, Şanlıurfa and Hatay.
InnoCampus Urla Program is realized with the contribution of Izmir Institute of Technology.

Objectives

  • Find solutions to high rate of unemployment within the refugee community
  • Create new business opportunities for skilled and educated people within the refugee community
  • Increase the social integration between local and refugee communities in Turkey
  • Provide new training programs and mentorship for young entrepreneurs who want to pursue new startups
  • Create new cooperation opportunities between the city we visit and international startup and maker communities

Program Details

InnoCampus Startup Accelerator Program started on July 28th at Izmir Institute of Technology with the Startup Weekend. Teams selected by the jury on Startup Weekend will participate in the intensive accelerator camp on August 14 – 26.
Teams will work to bring their business ideas to life with the intensive and hands-on entrepreneurship training and mentoring support throughout InnoCampus Startup Accelerator Program. Beside the entrepreneurship training, InnoCampus has a Fab Lab where users can build prototypes. Participants will be able to work on rapid prototyping methods through 3D printer, laser cutter and Arduino workshops in our Fab Lab. On the demo day at the end of the program, teams will present their ideas to the jury, project partners and investors. The best teams selected by the jury will receive grants at the end of the program.
English translation support will be provided during InnoCampus Urla Program.
