Program

InnoCampus High School Entrepreneurship and Creativity Camp in Izmir Institute of Technology is realized in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration, Mission in Turkey, an organization part of the United Nations system. The aim of the InnoCampus High School Entrepreneurship and Creativity Camp is to provide basic entrepreneurship training for high school students, workshops to improve their personal skills and creativity, and to develop their business ideas through teamwork.

The program will take place on 5 – 10 September. Most promising teams will be invited to InnoCampus High School Entrepreneurship and Creativity Camp. They work for 5 days to develop their business with intensive and practical entrepreneurship training and mentoring support. In addition to entrepreneurship training, InnoCampus containers also include a fabrication laboratory, FabLab, where entrepreneurs can prototype their business ideas. Participants work on fast prototyping methods by participating 3D printer, laser cutter and Arduino workshops in FabLab. On the demo day at the end of the program, they pitch their ideas to the jury, project stakeholders and investors.

Selection Criteria

InnoCampus İzmir Program targets both locals and individuals from the refugee community in Turkey who want to bring their business ideas to life and want to be entrepreneurs. Application and participation to the program is free. Accommodation is free and will be organized by the program. Participants will be responsible for transportation costs.

  • Being a high school student
  • Has a concrete and innovative startup idea which they have already started working on
  • Has already a prototype, website, some work done they can show
  • Has already talked to potential customers and users
  • Has already a team or is part of a team
  • Can speak and write English and/or Turkish
  • Commits to participating in at least 90% of the training program.

What is InnoCampus?

InnoCampus is a mobile accelerator / Fab Lab program which travels from city to city helping budding entrepreneurs bring their business ideas to life. The prefabricated portable platform consists of 3 containers (total 90 m2) which can be set up and disassembled in just a day and travels from city to city on 3 trucks.

The goal of the InnoCampus is to help young people with the tools and methods they will need at the early stages of their startups, encourage them and connect them with other individuals and organizations that can support them.

So far, InnoCampus has implemented 7 different training programs in Adana, Izmir, Çanakkale, Istanbul and Gaziantep. The next InnoCampus Program will take place in Izmir.
